In another life, I think I would have been an interior designer—at the least, an interior decorator of some sort because there’s something about spaces that is a real thrill for me. I savour every moment of it! From dreaming to creating, from experiencing to furnishing, observing, admiring, and being— there’s something about a well-designed space that is magnetic. It’s my kind of go-to porn—home interior porn, that is. (Did I catch your mind drifting a little there).

As a child, I remember spending time reimagining how I would redesign a room. I wondered which walls to knock down, which colours to change, which textures to use, and even rethinking about how I’d reconfigure a room's proportions.

One of my favourite mind games was to sit quietly in contemplation alone while dreaming of how I could recreate that space. I sat in a bathroom, plopped myself on a couch in the living room, or laid down on my bedroom floor, looking longingly at the nothingness of the ceiling above, as my mind was entertained by the vibrant imaginations running through my mind. That was my idea of fun!
