What is a 'good' life?
Unessential thoughts about what a life can be.
The thoughts that have been coming to my mind lately.
These are meant to be read as separate statements, although some might make more sense read together. Equally each mini paragraph can be read independently, as it’s own.
There’s been a resurgence of thoughts stirring in my mind lately. I attempted at least, 20 drafts (if not more) before arriving to this today.
Nothing, this week has felt ‘right’ to write. In the interest of never wasting your time, I kept trying. But then I thought, why not just write out all the thoughts that are arriving, in no particular order, other than these words were written as they arrived.
In nice easy-to-read digestible sentences, I’ll let you interpret them as you so choose.
Here are the thoughts I wrote down today:
(Accompanied by original visuals I thought made sense—and were of course fun to create.)
In an instant, I can shift my perspective and change my entire experience of any moment I am encountering.
That at any given moment, I am the authority over my mind, and I have the freedom and the choice to command my mind in any direction I choose. (Absolutely harder said than done, but it’s not impossible.)
That little bit of possibility is what keeps me hopeful and striving.
What if the purpose of a goal is not the goal itself but the pursuit of the journey? What if what gives life meaning is not the attainment of a goal but the strife towards that goal? Is this why I hear that the glory in achievements are futile?
There’s always something new to pursue. There’s always a new thing to desire.
There are no walls to the perspective I hold true in my mind. The only walls that my mind belongs to are the ones that I choose to hold true in my mind.
I am either a hostage or a liberator of my own mind.
There are a gazillion of opportunities for my mind to shift in reaction to the billions of stimulations that we are aware and unaware of.
Life is never static, the universe is never still.
We can either be intentional or unintentional with how we use our time.
We can be the type of person who schedules our every waking minute, including when to rest and relax or we can be the type of person who flows through each day, or find some where satisfying in-between or something else entirely.
