The Hue Behind the Hue
The origin story nobody asked for.
My story began about a decade ago. I started a four-year degree in communication studies and graduated with a bachelor’s in philosophy instead. Then I did what most people do post-grad, I built a career in a completely unrelated field. Ha ha.
Marketing first: advertising, hospitality PR, and then as an early hire at a fitness startup leading a global team of social managers across twelve cities. Then I made the leap that turned my passion into my vocation, I spent nearly a decade in fitness, training every body, personality, and modality I loved. The community anchored me. The transformation, in others and in myself, kept me.
Working with different bodies daily opened my eyes to an unexpected insight: we are so much more than just muscle and weight. Each metamorphosis pointed to a deeper question: what does it actually mean to live well and flourish?
One book changed my life: The Emotional Life of Your Brain by Richard Davidson and Sharon Begley. Once I realized fitness was only the first layer, my mind was opened to a new horizon of what thriving actually means for each of us.
We are not only muscle and bones. Neither are we mere thinking things, as Descartes once declared: “I think, therefore I am.” We are something more brilliant than I could have ever imagined.
I am in my third life.
I am nerd-ing out on all things human. Because the human body is an intelligence far superior to anything manmade, and millions of years later, we’re still only just beginning to fully comprehend what human potential actually is.
this newsletter is…
A weekly space to explore what living well means.
For you, for everyone, and for the whole G***m* world! Because there’s no such thing as a one-size fits all solution for all eight billion of us.
I am your thinking partner, meeting you where you are.
To build a life that feels most you. I am walking alongside you, each week, sharing insights, curations, and thoughts as we figure out what it actually takes to live well in creativity.
Across four pillars: brain, mind, body, and soul, and five actions: train, nourish, stimulate, rest recover, and sleeping well I write weekly editions about the small habits that compound into a life well lived.
What I’ve figured out so far:
a growth mindset applied to an experimental mindset is the way.
childlike wonder and play is the attitude.
neuroplasticity is the superpower.
Who is this for:
For those trying to gently make sense of themselves in this world. For those in the in-betweens of who you were raised to be, who you are, and who you are becoming.
Those who seek to reconnect with nature and reconnect with the nature within themselves. Those who seek depth over performance. Those who want to build lifelong habits towards a healthier life.
At your pace, on your terms, without guilt or shame.
Because the truth is, you don’t need to be someone new.
You only need to return home to who’s always been waiting inside of you.
That’s the mission.
