The Hue Behind the Hue
The origin story nobody asked for (but you’re getting anyway): the what, where, how, and why I created this space. Also, why your health, creativity, and self-expression matter more than ever.
Thank you for stopping by!
Well-being as our foundation and embracing creativity as our nature, I am exploring the tension between cultural conditioning and individual becoming.
Defining the difference between inherited values versus chosen values, and working through expectations against personal evolutions.
In the age of AI, the rules of the past no longer fully apply, so I’m rethinking through life. Inspired by past masters, learning from the wisdom of current thinkers, and informed by lived experiences: I am exploring the what, why, and how, of how to choose to live in today’s rapidly changing world.
Because our world is not setup in our favor.
Flourishing is a choice.
Thriving is a practice.
Life is based on the compound of all our daily choices.
So this is where I am at.
what if purpose is the wrong question?
Sitting by a window, watching leaves bob against the wind, I felt my spine straighten as a thought arrived: what if finding purpose isn’t what life is about?
My story began about a decade ago.
With half of a four-year degree in communication studies, I ended up graduating with a bachelor’s in philosophy instead. Then I did the thing most people did post-grad, I built a career in a completely unrelated field. Ha ha.
After a few years in marketing—advertising, hospitality PR, and as an early hire at a fitness startup leading a global team of social managers across 12 cities from Singapore, Shanghai, Dubai, to Sydney, I then made a leap into the fitness industry.
I turned my passion into my vocation.
I ran with it. It worked well for nearly a decade. I trained every body, personality, and modality I loved. The influence was electric.
The transformation, in myself and others, was profound. The community is who anchored me, but it was the impact that kept me.
Working with different bodies daily opened my eyes to the possibility in each of us. We are so much more than muscle and weight. Each metamorphosis never failed to inspire me.
It was through seeing what was possible in others and myself that kept my passion alive. My life in fitness had given me a great sense of meaning, but unexpectedly my heart felt called to another vocation.
Our brain. Our mind. Our body. Our soul.
Once I realized fitness was only the first layer, I saw with clear eyes: humanity is unlike any other intelligence. You and I are so much more than machines. If you even dare to think we are that simple, then you’ve arrived at the right place.
Happy Hue is an expression of my third life.
I am nerd-ing out on all things human.
There is nothing on this planet like the intelligence in us. Even the smartest scientists hate to admit they are only merely scratching the surface; and that’s why I’ve created this space.
You and I are nature; and the truth of our nature is waiting in us. Let this be our space to explore our genius.
You and I are not only a body or simply matter, neither are we only a thinking thing, as René Descartes declared: “I think, therefore I am.” ( the Mind-Body problem).
This is not a method or another protocol. This is about an honest confrontation of ourselves, in the current times, as a vulnerable participant of this one life. This is your invitation for deep self-exploration to liberate you, towards your truest shine.
Join me as we navigate this noisy world together. I am letting go of beliefs that no longer serve, rewiring my mindset towards flourishing, and debunking the many myths and confusing narratives that’s mislead us for too long.
I’ll try to make sense of as much as I can get through. Because OH MY, I know everything can be so overwhelming; and it’s sad that we live in a world where the default mod is we need to be on defense against the behemoth of industries feeding us false narratives.
I am on the quest of living as our truest selves by creating more alignment in our life. I am a strong believer, that there’s no such thing as a one-size-fits all solution.
So, think of this as your thinking partner, here to mirror some reflections and give us each space to explore our hues.
