On Recipes: Not A Burger, Burger
The tastiest homemade 'burger', that's not quite a burger.
It’s been raining heavily where I am as if there’s a waterfall above the clouds.
Through gloomy days, nothing is more craved than simple, hearty comfort foods to warm the belly and soothe the soul.
I also, admittedly, wasn’t in any mood to brave the store in such weather conditions, so I did the next best thing—scoured the fridge and pantry for ingredients to whip up something delicious for Sunday’s dinner for two.
Introducing the NOT-A-BURGER, BURGER.
While I ate my meat patty smothered in perfectly caramelised, glistening slow-cooked onions, with a side of the most delectable garlic toast imaginable, I made my man a full-on ‘burger’ sandwich, complete with crunchy lettuce instead.
His silence throughout the meal meant—in eating lingo— I made something worthy of devouring rather than merely something to enjoy. Success!
Also, no, I did not stop to take a picture. You’ll have to use your imagination. I did not want the meal to get cold as it posed for pictures. The Not-a-Burger Burger demands to be eaten hot, otherwise, all that effort would’ve been wasted.
What You’ll Need:
fresh quality meat patty from your local butcher
bread of choice (I had leftover sourdough at home)
