Here’s to the movers, the ones who see exercise not as a guilt-reducer or a weight-loss tool, but as a lifeline to health, cognition, and social well-being. In ‘The Next Big Idea - MOVEMENT: How Exercise Can Help You Find Happiness,” Stanford psychologist, Kelly McGonigal, Ph.D. shakes up the podcast universe with her call to redefine exercise, not as a chore or as a way to lose weight, but as an essential bodily engagement with life– one that helps us able to experience all the instinctive joys with and an action that’ll help us appreciate more of what life has to offer.
Think about finding joy in movement. See beyond the aesthetics, beyond weight management. Instead, embrace sustainable habits that tune into how exercise help morphs our brain chemistry and our neural patterns. Let the music move you, tap into the social benefits, and help to ignite the vitality that movement is guaranteed to breathe into our lives.
Movers know that regular exercise pays off– while that initial discomfort is hard to maintain, it’ll eventually transform into physiological rewards that translate a rush of endorphins into lasting waves of euphoria. It’s about building a fundamental shift towards one perspective toward movement and how to integrate it into our lives. One that positions exercise as essential as food. Because movement isn’t just action, it’s encoded into our DNA, a legacy from our hunter-gatherer ancestors, and coded into our social existence. As we sprint through life, let’s use this understanding to adapt, evolve, and rethink our definition of movement and the role it plays in our lives.
5 AM Club: Own Your Morning, Elevate Your Life by Robin Sharma is more than a book; it’s a call to redefine the start of your day, catapulting your productivity and positivity. It’s about the transformative power of the 20/20/20 method, and the victory hour that puts you first– a dedicated time to recalibrate and reset your daily intentions.
My own journey with the 5 AM club was vibrant and full of energy. The days I committed to this method were notably supercharged– with increased optimism, productivity, and a tangible vitality noticed by those around me. But, there’s a flipside. Consistently having to trade in precious sleep hours for the sake of waking up before the sun rises was a practice that wasn’t sustainable. It was a trade-off that worked a little when I was able to sleep at 9 PM, but it wasn’t always practical or realistic.
While I still apply some of Sharma’s strategies to my everyday life, not all elements fit seamlessly into my lifestyle. And that’s okay. It’s not about perfection, but about exploration, trial and error, and finding what works for you. At the end of the day, the best hacks and tools are the ones that enhance your life, not create friction– because who wants to lose sleep over losing sleep? It’s about selecting the habits that’ll add to our flourishing that matter most!
Looking for a natural energy kick that goes beyond the ordinary? Look no further than Sunfood Organic Red Maca powder. Add a teaspoon of this special root to your morning porridge or smoothie and experience a zazz to your pazzaz like never before. Not only does it provide a natural energy boost, but red maca is also known for its mood-enhancing properties and its potential benefits for reproductive health. Why not give it a try and see if it’s the caffeine alternative you’ve been looking for?
While I’m not a doctor or nutritionist, I can personally vouch for the positive effects it has had on my own morning routines. However, keep in mind that everybody is different, and the product may not have the same impact on everyone. If you have any underlying conditions, it’s always best to consult with a healthcare professional before trying new supplements or making changes to your routine.
A little bonus…

Is it art or is it furniture? Seoul-based artist Saerom Yoom challenges our perceptions with his captivating kaleidoscopic creations. Inspired by crystals, his pieces combine reflective materials and soft hues in innovative and novel ways. These whimsical and radiant designs provoke us to question where they truly belong– in a gallery or in our homes? I selfishly would like to own one at home.
Each piece exudes playful and futuristic energy, transporting our living room furniture into stunning works of art. The mesmerizing play o flight and color draws us in, leaving us unable to resist and look away. Saerom Yoom’s creations offer a glimpse into a vibrant and imaginative future, where beauty and functionality seamlessly intertwine.
Amidst my recent writing endeavours, I’ve found solace in the power of music that helps to enhance focus. These have been my go-to, curated gems that’ll elevate your week’s work sessions. Immersed in the chaos of rush-hour traffic, I found myself captivated by an enlightening conversation that sparked a cascade of thoughts. The age-old advice of don’t measure your success against someone else’s ruler is an age-old advice that deeply resonated with me this week.
In the era of social media, we all know how tempting it is to measure our worth against the achievement of others, especially the Instagram version of their lives. But, what I remind myself often is we should view their accomplishments as a wellspring of inspiration, rather than a yardstick for our own value.
What I empower us with this week is to remind ourselves, that our journey is unique. Embrace the beauty of our own paths and draw motivation from others without letting it overshadow our own greatness. Let us rise above the noise of our own doubts, celebrate our gifts and individualities, and find solace in the fact that success comes in many forms. It’s really up to us to define what that means to us.
