Maxime Manga redefines digital art with his bold interpretations of Afro-urbanist art.
For those who sometimes find anxiety as an unwelcome guest, I invite you to tune into The Wisdom of Anxiety with Dr. Tracy Dennis-Tiwary on A Bit of Optimism with Simon Sinek. It’s a conversation that helps us see anxiety not as an adversary but rather as a teacher and a mentor reminding us that we’re not here to eradicate it, but instead to coexist, and indeed learn from it.
When I turned the last page of a book that has left an undeniable mark on me: Letting Go: The Pathway of Surrender, I instantly felt a sense of relief. I say this without a hint of hyperbole– it’s a transformative read that has secured a spot in my personal pantheon of one of the most life-changing books I’ve read in my life.
To the strong and resilient women across Asia, there’s a beacon of self-care I wish to share: Ease Healthcare, a woman-healthcare brand that my lady parts have been appreciating, as they continue to serve products I’m sure any woman will love too! To my North American friends, a similar level of attention is served by the people at Momotaro Apotheca.
Maxime Manga (@mboa.art) has been redefining the landscape of digital art with his Afro-urbanist creations. Each piece is a blend of black-and-white photography, punctuated by bold, audacious strokes of color and graphics, and echoes the voice of the late, great Jean-Michel Basquiat while also celebrating Manga’s distinctive vision.
Music is an essential part of my life, and I find my recent favorite track Going Home by Black Grass, a jazzy composition of soothing, ethereal beauty that will demand your admiration. If this genre doesn’t speak your language, fear not. My Spotify page houses a spectrum of music genres to suit diverse palates.
I’ve been grappling with a thought about the intersection of self-worth and social media lately. Does it fortify our sense of self, or does it tether us to the fleeing validation of external realities? Should the value we place on ourselves originate within, or is it reasonable to lean on the affirmations we receive from outside? I’m keen to hear your reflections.
