Halo perkenalkan Namaku Ami, saat ini aku sedang aktif dan juga sekaligus belajar sebagai fulltime illustrator. Aku orang yang sangat curious akan berbagai hal dan sangat excited jika bisa belajar hal baru.
Keseharianku diisi dengan menggambar dan melakukan hal-hal yang menurutku bisa menjadi positif untukku. Disaat sedang overwhelmed atau artblock, aku biasanya pergi ke pasar toko antik, berkeliling dan melihat-lihat benda menarik.
Aku melihat diriku sebagai personal yang feminin dan aku akan selalu embrace hal tersebut. Aku juga orang yang pendiam sebenarnya, namun disaat bertemu orang lain yang satu frekuensi , aku bisa lebih open dan banyak bicara ☺️.
Hello, nice to meet you! My name is Ami. Right now, I’m actively working as a full-time illustrator while also learning along the way. I’m someone who’s incredibly curious about many things and always excited to learn something new.
My daily life revolves around drawing and doing things that I feel bring positivity into my life. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or hit an art block, I usually go to markets or antique shops, wandering around and admiring interesting objects.
I see myself as a feminine person, and I wholeheartedly embrace that. I’m actually quite reserved, but when I meet people who are on the same wavelength as me, I open up and become much more talkative. ☺️
Soundtrack hidupku banyak, tergantung suasana hati dan suasana hari. Tapi yang mungkin Claire de lune adalah musik yang bisa aku sebut soundtrack hidupku..

The soundtrack of my life changes a lot—it really depends on my mood and the vibe of the day. But if I had to pick one, maybe Clair de Lune would be the song I’d call my life’s soundtrack.
Three songs that are currently on repeat for me are “Someone in the Crowd” from the La La Land soundtrack, one of the songs from The Phantom of the Opera soundtrack, and “Don’t Stop Me Now” - Queen.
The last book that left a strong impression on me was Agatha Christie’s detective novel, And Then There Were None.
My go-to outfit right now is a simple mini dress and Parisian chic style—like pairing jeans with a unique top in neutral or deep maroon tones. Most of my wardrobe consists of earth tones and black.
My version of self-care is an afternoon nap.
My main life mantra is: “You are magical.”
The WORST advice I’ve ever received was when someone I knew told me to stop drawing.

Nama Amiwitchy sebenarnya adalah gabungan acak dari huruf-huruf yang terdapat di nama panjangku. Selain itu karena aku sangat tertarik dengan tokoh perempuan penyihir yang sering hadir di buku dongeng, fabel, dan mitos di berbagai kebudayaan, maka aku embrace kehadiran ‘Witch’ dalam diriku juga. Karena aku percaya tiap perempuan memiliki kekuatan magis tersendiri.
Kamu mulai eksperimen gambar sejak umur berapa? Terus gimana atau kapan kamu sadar kalau ini yang mau kamu kerjain full-time?
Aku mulai bereksperimen menggambar sejak sd, saat aku sadar kalau ini adalah yang ingin aku kerjakan full time adalah saat lulus kuliah. Saat itu aku bukan menmpuh kuliah desain, melainkan kuliah sastra perancis. Saat lulus aku merasa ingin lebih advance dalam dunia ilustrasi, aku pun mulai pindah ke kota baru yaitu Bandung yang menurutku penuh dengan jiwa kreaitf.
Apa arti seni dalam hidup kamu, dan khususnya apa arti karya seni kamu sendiri untuk kamu?
Arti seni dalam hidupku adalah sebuah hal yang membuatku bisa hidup lebih mindful dan merasakan sekitar lebih wise. Karya seni yang aku buat sendiri adalah sebuah cara aku membuat diriku ada dan hadir di dunai ini.
Kayaknya karya-karya kamu sering banget gambar perempuan, hal-hal ajaib, alam, sama kucing. Kenapa kamu tertarik sama tema-tema ini?
Karya-karyaku banyak mengandung unsur feminin, alam, dan kucing karena dalam berkarya aku sekaligus mengembrace kehadiran feminim dalam diriku dan sekitarku. Alam adalah sebuah penyeimbang dan sumber kehidupan, sementara kucing adalah hewan yang paling aku sayangi dan dekat.
Apakah ada pesan atau ide yang kamu kepengen sampaikan lewat karya kamu, atau kamu gambar lebih berdasar dair perasaan? Ada sudut pandang tertentu yang coba kamu tunjukin?
Aku ingin menyampaikan pesan yang feminim dan halus sebagai seorang wanita. Aku ingin dari gambarku semua orang bisa merasakan kelembutan dan hal ajaib yang ada dalam dirinya.
Apa yang paling bikin kamu kaget selama perjalanan kamu jadi ilustrator?
Sebenarnya bukan hal membuat paling kaget, tapi beberapa hal yang ternyata belum banyak aku tahu, seperti banyak skill yang aku bisa pelajari, tools dan hal seperti survival sebagai illustrator di negara ini.
Perasaan apa yang kamu harap bisa dirasain orang lewat karya-karya kamu?
Aku ingin orang-orang merasakan kecantikan dalam dirinya, juga hal baik dan magical. Juga aku ingin membuat narasi fantasi hadir dalam gambarku agar orang yang membacanya dapat terhibur.
Menurut kamu, seberapa penting seni dan kebebasan berekspresi di dunia ini? Kenapa?
Menurutku sangat penting, karena seni dan kebebasan berekspresi adalah hal yang membuat dunia ini hidup dan menjadi lebih baik.
Apakah kamu setuju bahwa tujuan manusia itu untuk selalu berkembang? Jika ya, menurutmu, saat ini kamu sedang berada di fase kehidupan apa dan perkembangan seperti apa yang kamu sedang perjalankan sekarang?
Aku setuju dengan statement tujuan manusia itu untuk selalu berkembang, bahkan sampai kita tua, kita dalam tiap waktu dan momennya pasti akan mempelajari hal baru. Kalau untuk saat ini aku dalam fase kehidupan yang disuruh untuk lebih sabar dan tidak tergesa-gesa dalam mengerjakan sesuatu.
Bagaimana kamu mendefinisikan kesuksesan?
Menurutku kesuksesan adalah disaat kamu merasa cukup dan lebih mindful dengan apa yang kamu punya, dan saat kamu bisa berbagi untuk hal-hal positif kepada orang banyak.
Where did the name 'AmiWitchy' come from? Does it have a special meaning?
I started experimenting with drawing when I was in elementary school, but I realized that this was what I wanted to pursue full-time after graduating from university. Interestingly, I didn’t major in design—I studied French literature instead. After graduating, I felt the urge to advance my skills in illustration, so I moved to a new city, Bandung, which I see as a place full of creative energy.
At what age did you start experimenting with drawing? And when did you realize that this was something you wanted to do full-time?
The name AmiWitchy is actually a random combination of letters from my full name. But beyond that, I’ve always been fascinated by female witches in fairy tales, fables, and myths across different cultures. I embrace the presence of 'Witch' in my identity because I believe every woman possesses her own unique magic.
What does art mean in your life, and specifically, what do your own artworks mean to you?
Art, for me, is something that allows me to live more mindfully and perceive the world with greater wisdom. My own artworks are my way of affirming my presence and existence in this world.
It seems like your works often feature women, magical elements, nature, and cats. What draws you to these themes?
My works are often filled with elements of femininity, nature, and cats. Through my art, I embrace femininity—both within myself and in the world around me. Nature, to me, represents balance and the source of life, while cats are animals I deeply love and feel closely connected to.
Is there a message or idea you want to convey through your art, or do you create more based on emotions? Is there a particular perspective you’re trying to express?
I want to convey a sense of femininity and softness through my illustrations. I hope that when people see my work, they can feel the gentle magic and beauty within themselves.
What has surprised you the most on your journey as an illustrator?
Rather than a single shocking revelation, I’d say my journey has been filled with many unexpected lessons—like discovering new skills I could learn, exploring different tools, and figuring out how to navigate life as an illustrator in this country.
What kind of feelings do you hope people experience when they see your work?
I want people to see the beauty within themselves, to experience something good and magical. I also want to bring fantasy narratives into my illustrations so that people who engage with them can find joy and a sense of wonder.
In your opinion, how important are art and creative freedom in this world? Why?
I believe that art and creative freedom are incredibly important—they are what makes the world feel alive and help shape it to become better.
Do you agree that the purpose of life is to always grow? If so, what phase of life do you feel you’re in right now, and what kind of growth are you currently going through?
I absolutely agree that the purpose of life is to keep growing. Even as we age, there will always be something new to learn in every moment.
Right now, I feel like I’m in a phase of life that’s teaching me to be more patient and not rush through things.
How do you define success?
To me, success is when you feel content and mindful with what you have, and when you are able to share positivity with others.
