A Few of My Favourite Things: Style Edition
Fashion finds for your style-conscious darlings.
‘Tis the season of gifting, and amongst other things, personal style is something I value.
For the fashion-forward, style-conscious loved ones in your life, here’s a list of some staples and worthy additions I’ve adored this year.
Flabelus is more comfortable than a sneaker but oh so classy, dressy, and packed with colourful textures too. Their men’s collection is a pop of fun but for the gent who’s unafraid to embrace a more feminine flare. I couldn’t help myself— I own two pairs of the iconic Mary Jane shoes.
Hijack Sandals is a forever favourite. Cool (pun intended) comfort that pampers the feet. Their latest ballet-flat-inspired shoe is worth a browse. I am sensing a trend. Also, the Shuffle option guarantees a one-of-a-kind purchase.
Tropicfeel is more than a shoe brand. They’re a travel accessories company with plenty of stock and systems for the design-conscious jet-setter. Showcasing clever design with every new product, their waterproof sneakers— the Sunset shoe in Onyx White— are my weekly regulars: sleek, clean, and a dream travel shoe; it keeps me travelling light with happy feet.
Indosole is B-Corp certified, fearuring soles made from landfill tyres. Yet, there are no compromises made for maximal style and comfort. I live in their adventurer sandals, produced in collaboration with Hijack Sandals! Two favourites marrying through a collab is always magic.
Claude* is chic modernised classics for women with a preference for sophistication. Perfect for day-to-night, colleagues and fashion aficionados will be equally impressed; creating formal to smart casual high-fashion looks at affordable prices.
Fuguku bag! Is a magnet for attention, kind on the wallet, and a statement piece for the wardrobe. Available in mini, midi, and maxi (tip: pay attention to the weight limit). Its loose form is a little on the fragile side, but the rebel in me had to go a little extra. I have the special edition Fugu mini in Oyster with bedazzled tips. The team has a sharp eye for funky flare and a real talent for surprisingly pleasant colour combinations.
3Mongkis is screams forward-thinking edge that’s both affordable and vibrantly current. A mix of Boiler Room grunge, Gap comforts, and with H&M pricing that’s difficult to resist.
Aidan and Ice* is a long-time favourite. Winning at nailing the Met Gala aesthetics but with a much friendlier price tag. With an innovative use of materials, each piece is a rare find of glorious glamour.
Magali Pascal* is another all-time favourite. Tropical classic with a twist—flattering cuts with a uniquely Australian aesthetic, the collections are city-to-island girl chic. A splurge but a worthwhile treat. My piece from a decade ago— still looks new, and is still a wardrobe staple.
Muka Concepts is a spa in Perenenan, Bali, that’s also made a line of naturally dyed casual wear. Simple straightforward design, with a little edge. Ultra-thin, cool, and breathable natural materials made for island hipsters darlings.
By Pillar is a multi-brand store curating a mix of fashion-forward international designers. Their creative vision is distinct, their selections challenge the boundaries of everyday fashion.
Anaphe* is a luxury silk clothing brand out of Hong Kong with ultra-soft silk (I can live in). Timeless, form-fitting, and, beyond belief, flattering. Gorgeous looks for the style-conscious woman looking for a cool outfit (pun intended).
