In light of everything that’s been happening in our world, I’m dedicating this edition of A NEW WITH HUE to the things that’s inspired me lately.
Wherever you are, my message is simple: let’s champion hope, generosity, and kindness—especially when it feels hardest to do so.
I created HAPPY HUE to celebrate the wonder of us—to shine a light on how truly incredible humanity is.
These editions has always been about spotlighting my fascination with human brilliance.
In a world that’s unpredictable, I am refocusing my energy and attention on the things that insprires awe.
Our resilience and endurance is what we need to lean on.
This month, I’m indulging in that amazement a little differently from our regular programming.
Here are eight things that’s been capturing my attention lately:
#1 - Indonesia’s 11-Year-Old Dance Phenomenon: Miyu
Miyu’s surprise appearance on Orlado’s Motiv crew video had me cheering. This Indonesian prodigy isn’t just dancing—she’s redefining what’s possible at her age, battling and moving with seasoned performers from around the world with real flare and confidence.
What strikes me most isn’t just her pure talent, but her complete conviction. It takes real discipline and dedication to achieve what she’s achieved at 11—and best of all, she appears to love every minute of it too.
She embodies that age is just a number, especially when passion is supported with encouragement. Behind every young trailblazer is a network, behind-the-scenes, believing in them—and Miyu is no-exception, she clearly has that foundation grounding her.

#2 - Fashion as Living Sculpture with Iris van Herpen
Iris van Herpen’s “Sculpting the Senses” exhibition in Singapore left me breathless. These aren’t clothes—they’re experiments in possibility, where fashion meets science and pure imagination.
I believe the best creative work emerges from uninhibited curiosity, not calculated outcomes. Van Herpen is a display of this: decades of obsessive experimentation leading to garments that challenge our definition of fashion and material. Her relentless boundary-pushing reminds us what mastery of craft and brave experimentation can achieve.
#3 - The Weight of Tomorrow with Sam Altman and Emily Chang
Sam Altman’s recent interview on The Circuit with Emily Chang crystallized something profound about this moment in history.
We’re witnessing disruption like never before at an unprecedented scale and speed, with Sillocon Valley figures, like Altman, holding extraordinary influence over humanity’s future.
Though this is nothing new, these God-like technology we are encountering now are—in contrast, like nothing we’ve ever encountered ever.
What’s sobering is the sheer unpredictability of what comes next—we are in uncharted territory, like never before. The responsibility these individuals and companies hold—and how they’ll wield it—will determine our collective fates for the generations to come in ways we’re never really going to understand.
Our story loving brains will attempt to make accurate predictions based on previous patterns, but the circumstance is completely beyond our current grasp.
Emily Chang’s reporting for Bloomberg Originals also deserves her recognition. She’s a reporter I admire, as her series continues to deliver conversations with some of technology’s titans, with captivating and illuminating insights.
#4 - Pioneering with Heart with Barbara Walter
Barbara Walter’s on Oprah’s Masterclass podcast reminded me of why she remains journalism royalty. Her secret wasn’t only asking questions others wouldn’t—it was doing so with genuine compassion and curiosity.
Walters knew her role in the world—as the first female co-anchor in the nightly news in the US, she bulldozed gender barriers in an industry that was often hostile to opinionated women. She pioneered heartfelt investigative journalism while going above and beyond to deliver the story. Her first-person narration here, serves as an inspiring account and reminder of how far we’ve come in media—and how far we still need to go.
Listening to her story about her father and the environment she grew up in was also a fascinating look into how she became the way she did.
#5 - Capturing Poetry in Motion with Max Manavi Huber.
Sports photographer Max Manavi Huber has mastered something elusive: translating pure energy into ethereal stills.
His images don’t scream for attention—but they’ll make you take a second look—they whisper, a softness, like capturing a runner’s shadow as he swiftly passes by.
There’s magic in the dynamism and subtle angles in the uses. The shades and hues that results created photographs that pulse with life while maintaining an almost dreamlike quality to this display of realism.
His work proves that even the most basic day-to-day activities can be captured with grace and finesse. That’s a statement to his artistry as well.
#6 - Wonder in the Sky
Walking along the city, we didn’t expect to find ourselves, underneath the manmade lit skies glittered in the scent of gunpowder.
Fireworks transported me instantly to my childhood—those wide-eyed days of amazement—mesmerising the colours dancing across the night sky.
No matter how many times I’ve seen them, each spectacle of glowing dust and glittering splats feels like the first time.
I thought to myself: how amazing—human ingenuity created this marriage of art, color, and engineering.
But, there are artists like in “Sky Ladder: The Art of Cai Guo-Qiang”—where fireworks is transformed into something else entirely— high art. Here’s documentation of an artist’s explosive vision.
#7 - Nature’s Creative Bursts with flowers from Charlotte Puxley
When inspiration runs dry, look no further. I’ll visit a flower market, buy myself flowers, or if I am really lucky, I was greeted by these beauties one afternoon.
There’s something about flowers that never fails to lift my spirits. I am in awe of their beauty—their brilliance feels like it represents nature’s purest creative expression.
Every petal, hue, and form is born from nature’s miraculous spectacle, showing off its nature. In a world of complexity, flowers are a sure work of art that’s always uplifting.
