21 Thoughts: What's the magic in your mind? | #THINKINGHUES
21 unfiltered thoughts of the moment and why childlike wonder is key to growth.

This week I am tearing down the fixation on format and letting the river of thoughts circulating in me this week flow untamed. Unfiltered, slightly restless, and yearning to breathe, I present to you the things I’ve been thinking about this week:
You are always the one that’s in control of your story, especially the parts that have yet to be written.
The future is always waiting for you, you’re the one who can decide how your future will play out.
Taking a moment to break away from your routines, go beyond your boundaries, and place yourself in an uncomfortable position can be an opportunity for immense learning and growth.
Growth happens through discomfort.
The only person who knows how far you’ve come is you.
Do things for yourself and for the act itself, not for approval, validation, or praise from others.
You have the power to approve, validate, and praise yourself.
External validation can feel good for a moment, but the feeling is momentary, real self-worth is earned from within, and that’s what lasts longer.
Taking ownership of who you are and of your life is a selfless act.
Being your most authentic self allows you to express your uniqueness to the world.
There’s only one of you in this world.
Willpower, resilience, and creativity are necessary for triumph, so don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
Only fools believe life is easily won, as those who make it look the easiest, are likely those who had to overcome the most to get to where they are.
If you’ve lost your spark for something, sometimes taking one step back, may help you take two steps forward.
Everyone has an opinion, but your own opinions about your life and how you want to live matter more.
Others will have expectations of you, but your expectations of yourself and your conviction to pursue what you expect of yourself matter more.
When you feel your best, is when you will be able to give your best.
Finding what works for you is your responsibility, don’t blame others if something’s not working.
Your fears can overtake you, only if you allow them to.
Someone else’s solutions can inspire you but don’t adopt their solution blindly.
Your intuition always knows.
I’ll close today’s post with this thought, to create space for growth, focus on unleashing your inner child within. While your attempt to restart your playfulness is discouraged in place of the seriousness of ‘adulting’, life doesn’t have to be a series of trade-offs. Progress in you and in life requires new ideas, so before we dispose of our wide-eyed wonder, remember that the value in childlike wonder is the ability to see the world with fresh eyes– separate from assumptions, filled with inspiration, and space to rethink.
Today, I challenge you to take a step back, into the child you once were, spend time doing one of your favourite activities as a child— then, spend time reflecting on how you felt during, how you feel after and any other insights you may gain. If nothing comes up for you, don’t worry, the process is enough to help you break away from your usual patterns.
